Six basic and simple double rooms

INFO: With room for only 12 passengers, divided into six rooms, the departures in December, January and February, as well as up to the European Summer-, Autumn-, Winter- and Easter holiday periods are often sold out long in advance. Tour start from Bangkok every Tuesday and Friday. Pick up and return journey to Hua Hin, Pattaya or Suvarnabhumi airport can be arranged with additional charge.

The two-story houseboat is built as a modern version of a traditional Thai houseboat. Top floor, - six simple basic double rooms without too much fuss (and without air conditioning), but with a large mosquito net and large windows. Below are two toilets and showers for common use and the large semi-open dining area with beautiful polished floorboards of Rosewood and Redwood. Furthermore is the large a sun deck surrounding the float house. The boat's crew of four, which includes English speaking guide - a chef who gets the taste buds to rejoice in the enthusiasm - captain serving tug boat and a helpful boatswain, who also manages the longtail-boat on excursions and is responsible for the kayaks and fishing rods. The Houseboats route is fixed, but you decide the pace during your stay. Apart from the excursions are you own master over time. Take a dip in the clear, clean and refreshing water. Do not fear the water. There are no crocodiles or snakes! Try a kayak or relax with a fishing rod or maybe just a line. Enjoy life on the sun deck or relax in a hammock. Read a book in one of the armchairs and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, a glass of water or some fresh fruit. It's included during the entire trip.

The lake was created in 1984 when the Thong Pha Phum Dam was built, primarily to control water from three smaller rivers from the north, as

they join the Kwai Noi, which later flows into the Mae Klong River, which again flows into the Gulf of Siam southwest of Bangkok. The lake is 475 square kilometers - The lake's deepest point is 60 meters.

Day 1 Lake Adventure / (L,D)

Tuesday or Friday - Minibus pick up from your Bangkok hotel.

(Surcharge for pickup from the airport or Hua Hin).

After a two hours drive we will make a break at one of Thailand’s major attractions. The Bridge over The Kwai River. We will enjoy a delicious lunch with a view to the famous construction. The bridge can be crossed by food.

The last part of the tour is done quickly and at about 3 PM we reach our destination. The houseboat is anchored up in a tranquil small fishing village. We sail out through this peaceful environment. The rest of the day you are free to relax as you like. Take a swim, enjoy the sun or take a nap in a hammock. The cook will prepare a great dinner. The breeze from the lake secures a comfortable temperature.

Day 2 – Waterfall & Coconut Island (B,L,D)

A day of relaxing character and for this purpose is the houseboat unsurpassed. We see Mon Tribe fishing village built entirely on stilts. Then the opportunity of having the silence of the lake for your self, while the houseboat drifts past the beautiful and unspoiled scenery in the Khao Laem National Park. The guide accompany us on a two-hour tour of one of the lake's few inhabited islands - which is named after its seven residents' main job - coconuts. The island is hilly and 400,000 square meters - about eight football fields. There are 1,200 coconut trees here and they harvest 500 nuts per week, which is faithfully picked up each Wednesday by the wholesaler. Each nut brings in 80 THB - or total revenue of 40.000 THB per week. After local conditions this is a very excellent business for the seven employees. An ordinary coconut costs 20 THB, so why is the coconuts from Coconut Island four times more valued? Yes, they are utterly specific and rare. They have no special taste - it contains no coconut oil and no coconut milk, so they can not be used industrially or for cooking. In contrast, innards considerably softer than in a normal coconut. It is almost creamy and tangential jelly. It is used as a dessert in exquisite circles and eaten with sugar. Market mechanisms, supply and demand - makes price rise four times. We walk across the island and gets picked up on the opposite side. The boat passes the vertical rock formations that stand straight up and down in the water. Here we take a break before we head further and find the ideal stop for the night.

Day 3 - The camp of Elephants' & Bamboo rafting (B,L,D)

Take a ride on the elephants - Bamboo rafting down the river.

After breakfast we will use the kayaks to reach five small caves not far from the houseboat. It’s possible to paddle inside and if you are lucky you will see the bats.

After lunch we will be picked up by a longtail-boat that will take us up river. At the Karen village the elephants will be waiting for the ride lasting about an hour. They will take you through unique jungle. A snack in the open will be served, before we do the bamboo-rafting. You can try to steer the raft or just lean back and enjoy the scenery. During the monsoon this part of the tour is only for the adventurous as it takes a good balance in the roaring river.

Back on the boat take a glass of wine and enjoy the sight of the sun setting behind the mountains. The locals sail out to put up their fishing nets. The starry sky feels very close to earth and you will get the chance to count shooting stars in the tropical night.

Day 4 – Arrival in Sangklaburi (B,L)

Enjoy the day swimming, fishing or sun bathing.

After lunch and an hour of sailing its time to say goodbye. The houseboat will anchor up in Sangklaburi where Karen, Mon and Laos people live in harmony with the Thai and Burmese people. We will start exploring the magnificent temple, which you until now only have seen from the lake. On the way we pass the lively Burmese market with jewelry trading, art crafts and cheap Burmese cigarettes.

After this we walk to the charming village Wang Kha, where the Mon people live. They are said to be of Indian or Mongolian origin and are recognized by their special clothing (longyi/sarong)

We will continue to the main town Sangklaburi via the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. Here the car/minivan will wait and drive us back to Bangkok or Hua Hin

Already having experienced so much you can look out of the window and enjoy one of Thailand’s most beautiful road stretches. The first part is untouched jungle with dense rainforest on both sides, mountaintops with panorama view to the Khao Laem lake, where you have just been sailing.

The trip to the hotel in Bangkok is at 5 / 6 hours. Expected arrival at approx. 18.30.

The tour can end at Kanchanaburi, with subsequent Home Stay (ask for the program), and at additional charge in Khao Yai National Park, Hua Hin or Suvarnabhumi Airport with flight out after 20:30

Season: We sail all year around. The period from November to February is popular with dry weather and lower temperature at around 30 degrees. From March to May the temperature is generally higher. May to November the weather is ever changing and tropical rain is expected – but just a couple of hours a day.

Price is inclusive two way transportation from your hotel in Bangkok by minivan.
